Russia and Belarus have launched joint exercises "Allied Resolve-2022"

MOSCOW, Feb 10 - RIA Novosti. Russia and Belarus have launched joint military exercises "Allied Resolve-2022", the Russian Defense Ministry reported.

"On the tenth of February, the joint exercise "Allied Resolve-2022" began at the combined arms ranges of the armed forces of the Republic of Belarus as part of the second stage of the verification of the reaction forces of the Union State," the military department said.

The maneuvers are carried out to work out tasks "to suppress and repel external aggression during a defensive operation, as well as counter terrorism and protect the interests of the Union State."

During the "Allied Determination", the security of the state border will be strengthened to prevent the penetration of armed militant groups, to block the channels of delivery of weapons and ammunition. Also, the military of the two countries will find and destroy illegal armed formations and sabotage and reconnaissance groups of a conditional enemy.

The episodes of the exercises will be played out at the Belarusian ranges Domanovsky, Gozhsky, Obuz-Lesnovsky, Brest and Osipovichi, as well as in certain areas of the territory of Belarus. Aviation will use the airfields of Baranovichi, Luninets, Lida and Machulishchi.

The exercises, the Ministry of Defense clarified, involved management bodies, units and military units of the Eastern Military District and the armed Forces of Belarus.

During the first stage of the verification of the reaction forces of the Union State, the troops relocated and created groups in the threatened areas, organized the protection of important state and military facilities, strengthened the protection of the state border in the airspace within the framework of the Unified Regional Air Defense System of Belarus and Russia. The governing bodies and military units of the Eastern Military District regrouped over a distance of about 10 thousand kilometers.

Also, control classes on fire training and other training subjects were held with units and military units of the Eastern Military District and the Belarusian Armed Forces.
