MOSCOW, Feb 9 - RIA Novosti. Leonid Kalashnikov, head of the State Duma Committee on CIS Affairs, Eurasian Integration and Relations with Compatriots, said that the Duma will discuss the possibility of assigning the status of a combatant to military personnel who participated in CSTO missions.
Kalashnikov said that the head of the Defense Committee of the State Duma, Andrei Kartapolov, told the participants of the relevant committees and commissions of the parliaments of the CSTO member states what can be done in the field of regulating the status of military personnel.
"For example, are the participants in such events as the entry of CSTO troops into a particular hot spot, participants in hostilities? To do this, it is necessary to change national legislation. We shared with each other (opinions on legislation) that it should be done, it should be developed, it should be improved. It was the first time. We have agreed on this," Kalashnikov said at a press conference in the State Duma.
