MOSCOW, Feb 9 - RIA Novosti. The exercises of the Russian Federation and Belarus do not exceed the limits of troops established by international agreements, Russian Ambassador to Minsk Boris Gryzlov said.
"These exercises are planned... Our Russian troops and weapons arrived at these exercises. I want to draw your attention right away that there is a certain bar for the number of participants in the exercises and for the number of weapons... This bar has not been exceeded, and therefore there is nothing to worry about," Gryzlov said on the Rossiya 24 TV channel.
At the same time, he noted that NATO is pulling its forces to the border of Belarus from Poland. "We see that NATO is pulling up weapons closer to the borders of our Union State, in particular, to Poland, and is pulling up representatives of its armed forces, and these are no longer units, not even hundreds, they are thousands," he stressed.
The reaction forces of the Union State are being tested on the territory of Belarus. At the first stage (until February 9), it was planned to redeploy and create groups of troops on the territory of Belarus. At the second stage (from February 10 to 20), joint Belarusian-Russian exercises "Allied Resolve-2022" will be held, within the framework of which issues of suppressing and repelling external aggression, as well as countering terrorism and protecting the interests of the Union State will be worked out.
