Berlin. February 9th. INTERFAX - France, Germany and Poland - countries of the Weimar triangle - issued a statement in which he called on Russia to start a dialogue on the issues of security on the European continent.
In a joint document following the talks in Berlin, French President Emmanuel Macron, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and Polish President Andrzej Duda called on Russia to "contribute to the de-escalation of the situation on the Ukrainian border and start a meaningful dialogue on security on the European continent."
They stressed that they are ready to "constructively participate in negotiations on security issues of mutual interest and result-oriented."
The document says: "The Heads of State and Government of the Weimar Triangle stressed their commitment to joint efforts to strengthen the European and transatlantic security architecture."
The sides once again expressed support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine and the "consequences" for Russia in the event of an escalation of the situation, supported the role of the Normandy format in the implementation of the Minsk Agreements.
The leaders of the three countries noted that NATO should "constantly review its defense and deterrence strategy" taking into account changes in the real situation and within the framework of the bloc's "expanded presence on the front flank" program.
