Minsk. February 8. INTERFAX - Military personnel continue to perform tasks as part of the verification of the reaction forces of the Union State on the territory of Belarus, the Ministry of Defense of the Republic reported on Tuesday.
"The personnel of the separate Guards mechanized battalion of the 6th OMBR have worked out conducting special actions to combat sabotage and reconnaissance groups of a conditional enemy and a conditional illegal armed formation," the report says.
"Motorized skirmishes operated with the support of tanks and a rocket artillery unit of the 350th artillery group of the 6th ombr. During the drawing, the servicemen of the self-propelled artillery unit worked out the issue of leafing the terrain where the militants were hiding," the department added.
Russia and Belarus are checking the reaction forces of the Union state. By February 9, it is planned to redeploy and create groups of troops, on February 10-20, the exercises "Allied Determination-2022" will be held. Almost all the armed forces of Belarus, as well as parts of the Eastern Military District, the VKS and the Airborne Forces of Russia will be involved in the exercises, Andrei Nekrasevich, head of the main directorate of combat training of the Belarusian army, said on January 21.
The exercises are taking place against the backdrop of a crisis in relations between Russia and NATO. The United States, other NATO countries and Ukraine announced the concentration of troops at the Ukrainian border and the threat of a Russian invasion. In December 2021, the chief of the General Staff of the Russian Federation, Valery Gerasimov, said that Russia had no aggressive plans.
