Moscow. February 8. INTERFAX - Russian President Vladimir Putin said that there is no alternative to the Minsk agreements on the settlement in the south-east of Ukraine, and Kiev must fulfill them, whether it likes them or not.
"As for the Minsk agreements, do they have prospects or not? I think there is simply no other alternative," Putin said on Tuesday at a press conference after talks with French President Emmanuel Macron.
"In Kiev, they say that they will comply with (the Minsk agreements - IF), then they say that this will destroy the country, and the current president recently said that he does not like a single point of these Minsk agreements. Like it or not, bear with my beauty. We must do it, it won't work any other way," Putin said.
Putin stressed that the Kiev authorities do not want to talk directly with the authorities of Donbass, although it is written in paragraphs 12, 9 and 11 of the Minsk agreements that some issues will be discussed and agreed with representatives of these territories.
