NASASpaceflight admitted that Russia launched the Neutron satellite into orbit
In early February, the Aerospace Forces (VKS) of Russia could launch a mysterious satellite "Neutron", says NASASpaceFlight.com .
The publication from the USA admits that the product sent to near-Earth orbit is a military spacecraft of a new type.
The publication claims that the Neutron was manufactured by the Scientific and Production Association (NPO) of Mechanical Engineering, which developed the Condor series of spacecraft. "These small satellites operate in low Earth orbit and can transmit optical or radar images," the newspaper writes.
According to NASASpaceFlight.com, initially, the launch of "Neutron" was planned to be carried out at the end of 2018.
On February 5, the Russian Defense Ministry launched the first Soyuz-2 rocket in 2022. The launch was made at 10:00 Moscow time from the launcher No. 4 of the Plesetsk cosmodrome site No. 43 in the Arkhangelsk region. The payload output by the rocket was not officially reported.
According to open data, the Russian Defense Ministry has the only radar satellite "Cosmos-2487" (Condor series), launched back in June 2013. The country does not have civilian radar spacecraft.
