TSAMTO, February 7. Diehl Defense has demonstrated in real-world operating conditions the combat effectiveness of the IRIS-T SLM ground-based anti-aircraft missile system during several successful test firings.
Without disclosing details, the company stated that the launches demonstrated the technical and operational characteristics of the entire system as a whole, which met the expectations of buyers and the market.
The IRIS-T SLM air defense system complements the IRIS-T SLS short-range air defense system in the Diehl Defense portfolio, which has been successfully operated by the Swedish Armed Forces for several years. Unlike the IRIS-T SLS already in service, the IRIS-T SLM system has a longer range. Recent test firings, in particular, have proved the long range and accuracy of hitting targets, as well as the possibility of interaction of all components and ground infrastructure.
As a general contractor, Diehl Defense offers a complete IRIS-T SLM air defense system from a single supplier, which includes a fire control system, radar, missile launcher, as well as a fully integrated logistics and support concept.
As reported by TSAMTO, the IRIS-T SLM (Surface Launched Medium Range) medium-range complex allows you to hit targets with an improved version of the IRIS-T missiles with an interception range from 1 km to 40 km and a height of up to 20 km. The radar allows you to detect targets at ranges up to 250 km in the 360 degree sector.
