China will be responsible for non-compliance with sanctions
Washington. February 6. INTERFAX - Sanctions against the Russian Federation in case of its invasion of Ukraine will affect China, while China's non-compliance with these sanctions will also entail punitive measures, Jake Sullivan, adviser to the US President on national security, told NBC on Sunday.
"The sanctions that we will impose will have an effect on China, because they will also be against the Russian financial system, which, of course, interacts with the Chinese economy," he said.
"China will have a choice: to comply with the sanctions or not. If he chooses not to comply with them, then, of course, penalties will be provided," Sullivan continued.
The adviser to the US president noted that, according to Washington, China will also be affected by the negative consequences of a possible Russian invasion of Ukraine.
