Washington. February 6. INTERFAX - The Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS) of the US Army, General Mark Milli, believes that in the event of Russian aggression against Ukraine, the Ukrainian capital will be captured within 72 hours, Fox news channel reports.
A number of sources in the US Congress told the TV channel that Milli had previously reported such information to congressmen.
In addition, during closed briefings for congressmen on February 2 and 3, the American military commander claimed that up to 15 thousand Ukrainian soldiers and up to 4 thousand Russian soldiers could die during the capture of Kiev.
At the same time, Fox news notes, some congressmen expressed concern that the US administration, in their opinion, is not supplying Ukraine with military assistance such as air defense systems quickly enough.
According to Fox news, the briefings, in addition to General Milli, were attended by such US administration officials as Secretary of State Anthony Blinken, Pentagon Chief Lloyd Austin, head of the US intelligence community Evril Haines, US Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas.
