Presidential candidate from the right-wing National Unification party Marine Le Pen has promised that France will withdraw from NATO if she wins the presidential election.
The broadcast of her speech to voters in Reims on February 5 was conducted by the TV channel BFM.TV, writes Izvestia.
According to the politician, France should withdraw from military blocs and protect its own interests.
"Therefore, we will withdraw from the NATO joint command so that we can no longer be drawn into other people's conflicts," Le Pen said.
As she added, France is "slipping away from the French," in "the great washing machine of the new century, which seems to be disappearing from the Europeans."
