A day earlier, Blashchak announced the transfer of ATGMS and ammunition to Ukraine, without specifying the volume of supplies and the model of the missile system. It is known that Poland produces under license the Israeli Spike-LR ATGM, as well as Pirat, developed jointly with Ukraine.
Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki, who visited Kiev on Tuesday, said that Poland intends to provide Ukraine with tens of thousands of ammunition, including artillery, as well as MANPADS, light mortars and reconnaissance drones.
Piorun MANPADS, also known as Grom-M, is a joint development of the Military Technological University, as well as the companies CRW Telesystem-Mesko sp. and Mesko S.A. The new launcher is a deep modernization of the Grom MANPADS adopted by the Polish army in 1995. Piorun is designed to defeat aerial targets flying at an altitude of 10 to 4000 m and located at a distance of 500 to 6500 m from the operator.
