TSAMTO, February 1. The Bangladesh Ground Forces will purchase a batch of Russian AK-15 7.62 mm caliber submachine guns for a 7.62 x 39 mm caliber cartridge manufactured by the Kalashnikov Group of companies.
According to the tender document published by the Directorate General of Defense Procurement of Bangladesh (DGDP) on January 19, it is planned to purchase 2000 units of AK-15.
According to Shephard Media, responses to the request from industry and agents, in this case from Rosoboronexport, are required to be submitted by February 16, 2022.
The initial batch of machine guns will be distributed to educational institutions, academies and regimental centers. It is expected that the current tender will be followed by new purchases, as the AK-15 will gradually replace the assault rifles in service with the Armed Forces of Bangladesh.
