NGSW-FC Sight
Specialists of the US Army never stop working on the creation of small arms of the next generation. This is confirmed by a contract worth $ 2.7 billion with Vortex Optics for the supply of new NGSW-FC computerized sights to the Army, capable of predicting the trajectory of a bullet even before a shot is fired. The novelty is supposed to be installed on a new NGSW-AR rifle (Next-Generation Squad Weapons-Automatic Rifle), which is due to enter service this year.
NGSW-FC is attached to the Picatinny rail M1913. The sight provides an increase of 1-8 times. In it, Vortex Optics applied a "fire control system with an active reticle", offering the shooter an already adjusted aiming point, taking into account the decrease in the trajectory of the bullet and the correction for wind. The new sight is suitable for the M4A1 carbine in service, but it was primarily developed for the promising NGSW automatic rifle. The army was originally going to order about 100,000 units, but the new contract involves the supply of 250,000 sights. In addition to rifles and sights, the contract provides for the purchase of additional accessories, spare parts, repairs and engineering work.
