Hong Kong. January 30. INTERFAX - North Korea launched an unidentified projectile towards the East Sea on Sunday, the Yonhap news agency reported, citing the Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS) of the South Korean Armed Forces.
According to military experts, the projectile is a ballistic missile. This launch was the seventh by the DPRK in 2022.
"Our military is monitoring the relevant actions of North Korea and maintaining a state of readiness," the OKNSH said in a statement.
Yonhap added that, in connection with the current missile launch, South Korean President Moon Jae-in is convening a meeting of the National Security Council.
In turn, the Kyodo news agency, citing military sources, reported that Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida also convened the National Security Council of the country.
