The joint exercises of the Russian Federation and Belarus "Allied Resolve-2022" are defensive in nature and do not pose a threat to the European community and neighboring countries, First Deputy Defense Minister of the republic Viktor Gulevich said. His words are quoted by the press service.
Earlier, Pavel Muraveyko, Deputy chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Belarus, said that a sudden check of the forces and means of reaction of the Union State would be carried out jointly with Russia. At the final stage of this event, the Belarusian-Russian exercises "Allied Resolve-2022" will be held. According to the Ministry of Defense, the exercises will be held from February 10 to 20.
"The exercise conducted as part of the verification is purely defensive in nature and does not pose any threat to the European community as a whole or to neighboring countries in particular. It will make it possible to improve the mechanism of joint use of defense infrastructure in practice and to check the readiness and ability of the designated forces to perform tasks for their intended purpose," Gulevich said.
