TSAMTO, January 27. The position of the German Government on the issue of arms supplies to Ukraine remains unchanged. This, as RIA Novosti reports, was stated on January 26 at a briefing in Berlin by a representative of the German Defense Ministry.
"Nothing has changed in the position of the federal government regarding the supply of weapons to Ukraine," he said, answering the relevant question.
As the agency notes, the issue of arms supplies from Germany is regularly raised by the Ukrainian authorities. Ukrainian Ambassador Andriy Melnyk stated that the immutability of this position could affect the relations between the two countries.
Earlier, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine summoned German Ambassador Anka Feldguzen and expressed deep disappointment over the position of the German government regarding the non-provision of "defensive" weapons to Kiev.
The German authorities have repeatedly stated that Berlin does not support the supply of weapons to Ukraine.
