Beijing. January 27. INTERFAX - Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, in a telephone conversation with US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken, said that China stands for resolving the Ukrainian issue on the basis of the Minsk agreements.
"The Minsk Agreement was approved by the UN Security Council. This is a basic political document, recognized by all parties, and deserves effective implementation. China will support all actions as long as they comply with the direction and spirit of this agreement," the Chinese Foreign Ministry quoted Wang Yi as saying.
He told Blinken that "Russia's reasonable security concerns should be taken into account and resolved."
At the same time, the Chinese minister urged all sides to "remain calm and avoid actions that increase tensions and inflate the crisis."
"Wang Yi stressed that the security of one country cannot be ensured by harming the security of other countries, and regional security cannot be guaranteed by strengthening and even more so expanding military blocs," the Chinese Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
