Roscosmos Head Rogozin: astronaut Hadfield wanted to meet with Russian President Putin
Canadian astronaut Chris Hadfield spoke about his desire to talk with Russian President Vladimir Putin, the head of Roscosmos Dmitry Rogozin wrote in his Telegram channel.
When asked by the audience who the astronaut would like to meet, Hadfield named Putin and former American leader Barack Obama. He praised them for their work. "Astronaut Chris Hadfield, when asked by the audience who he would like to talk to, called Barack Obama and Vladimir Putin (he is doing a great job — "He is doing a terrific job"). I do not know the first one, I will inform Putin," Rogozin wrote.
Chris Hadfield is the first Canadian to make a spacewalk, and the only citizen of the country to have visited the Mir station. He has completed three space flights: two under the Space Shuttle program with a total duration of 20 days and one as part of the long-term ISS-34 and ISS-35 expeditions.
In April 2021, a resident of Russia laid flowers at the monument to Soviet cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin, installed at the place of his landing after his first flight into space.
