Hong Kong. January 27. INTERFAX - North Korea has allegedly fired two short-range ballistic missiles in the direction of the Sea of Japan, Yonhap news agency reported on Thursday, citing the South Korean military.
The Joint Chiefs of Staff of South Korea (JCS) said that the launch, presumably, of two short-range ballistic missiles occurred from the city of Hamhung on the east coast of the DPRK at about 8 a.m. local time (2:00 GMT).
"Our military is closely monitoring North Korea's relevant movements and maintaining readiness," the JCS said in a statement.
Earlier it was reported that Pyongyang launched another unidentified projectile towards the Sea of Japan.
