Washington. January 27. INTERFAX - US and Polish Defense Ministers Lloyd Austin and Mariusz Blaszczak discussed the situation on the Russian-Ukrainian border during a telephone conversation, the Pentagon said.
"The leaders expressed their unwavering support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, as well as their unwavering commitment to building up the defensive potential of the armed forces of Ukraine," the statement said.
It notes that the ministers discussed "the ongoing unprovoked buildup of Russian military power around Ukraine," and also "exchanged views on strengthening deterrence on the eastern flank of NATO."
