Istanbul. January 26. INTERFAX - Turkey does not need tension on the border with Ukraine, and therefore it is still ready, if necessary, to accept talks between the leaders of Russia and Ukraine, Vladimir Putin and Vladimir Zelensky, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on Wednesday evening.
"Turkey cannot put up with the tension around Ukraine. We want peace in our region and are ready to help defuse tensions in any possible way," he said.
"We are also ready to receive Presidents Zelensky and Putin in Turkey for talks," Erdogan said.
