TSAMTO, January 25. According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Philippines, on January 16, the first batch of military equipment donated by China in the amount of 76 million yuan (about $ 21 million) was delivered to Manila this year.
As stated, the delivery package includes various military equipment, equipment and equipment, including unmanned systems, rescue and auxiliary equipment, sensors, water purification machines, ambulances, fire trucks, X-ray machines, mine clearance robots, explosive device disposal suits, vehicles, engineering equipment (excavators, dump trucks, forklifts and earthmoving machines).
It is planned that the Ministry of Defense of the Philippines will officially hand over the delivered equipment to the command of the Armed Forces in February.
The second batch of military aid with a total value of 54 million yuan will be delivered later this year.
China's supply of military equipment to the Philippines, according to experts, is part of Beijing's efforts to improve relations with its neighbors in the Southeast Asian region, primarily with countries claiming island territories in the South China Sea.
In 2017, China has already provided military assistance to the Philippines to expand the capabilities of the country's armed Forces to combat terrorism.
