Minsk. January 24. INTERFAX - The risk of gang activity and the development of the humanitarian crisis in Afghanistan have caused the CSTO to pay special attention to the borders of this country from Tajikistan, CSTO Secretary General Stanislav Zas said.
"We are doing some work to strengthen our southern borders, first of all the borders of Tajikistan with Afghanistan," he said on the ONT TV channel on Sunday.
Zas described the situation in Afghanistan as "very difficult" and "difficult". "The terrorist threat from this territory and the threat of drug trafficking remain," he added.
The CSTO Secretary General drew attention to the fact that the development of the situation will depend on how successful the actions in Afghanistan will be to overcome the humanitarian crisis.
