Russia will not wait indefinitely for the response of the United States and NATO on security guarantees and will protect its security by other methods, Konstantin Gavrilov, head of the Russian delegation to the Vienna talks on military security and arms control, said on the Izolenta live YouTube channel.
The meeting of the foreign ministers of Russia and the United States, dedicated to the discussion of the Russian security initiative, was held on January 21 in Geneva.
US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken called the discussion an honest exchange of ideas. He promised to present Washington's response to Moscow's proposals in the coming week.
He noted that if the West ignores the proposals of the Russian Federation, Moscow "will draw conclusions and will defend its security in Europe by other means and methods."
Earlier, Sputnik radio reported that Gavrilov warned the West and the Kiev authorities about the consequences of provocations in the Donbass.
