MOSCOW, January 23 - RIA Novosti. The Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation, Army General Sergei Shoigu, in congratulating DOSAAF on the anniversary, noted that the defense organization has brought up millions of real patriots, the press service of the Russian Defense Ministry reports.
"Over the years, the country's defense organization has educated millions of true patriots, made an invaluable contribution to the Victory in the Great Patriotic War. In harsh times, hundreds of thousands of people – sailors, snipers, machine gunners - were trained in it. DOSAAF has trained over ten million workers for the national economy. Outstanding athletes who have won awards of the most prestigious competitions for the Motherland have grown up in its ranks," the congratulation reads.
The head of the Russian Defense Ministry also recalled the invaluable contribution of DOSAAF to the Victory in the Great Patriotic War.
According to him, today the society continues to train citizens in military accounting specialties, develop military-applied sports, train specialists in mass technical professions. In addition, work is being carried out on the patriotic education of young people and the development of the Unarmeist and search movements.
