TASS: The United States did not issue a visa to Roscosmos cosmonaut Chub for training at the American center
The United States did not issue a visa to Roscosmos cosmonaut Nikolai Chub to participate in a training session at the Lyndon Johnson Space Center. This is reported by TASS with reference to a source familiar with the situation.
According to the agency interlocutor, the Russian cosmonaut was refused an entry visa without explanation. It is noted that Chub's flight to the International Space Station (ISS) is scheduled for spring 2023.
Before the flight to the ISS, astronauts from other countries usually undergo training at the Yuri Gagarin Cosmonaut Training Center in Star City to master the Russian segment of the station, and cosmonauts from Russia - at the Lyndon Johnson Space Center, where they get acquainted with the American segment.
Earlier, Roscosmos cosmonaut Sergei Korsakov said that the Russian Falcon spacesuit is more reliable than the American one from SpaceX. "Frankly, you feel much more confident and reliable in the Falcon than in a SpaceX spacesuit. And I like his classic old-school look, although, undoubtedly, Elon Musk made a really stylish space suit," Korsakov shared his opinion.
