The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia proposed to legislate the authority for the department to conduct inspections of cartridges for civilian and service weapons for compliance with forensic requirements. This is reported by TASS, referring to the press center of the ministry.
The Agency has prepared proposals for amendments to the Federal Law "On Weapons" as part of the implementation of the instructions of the Government of the Russian Federation. It is noted that these proposals are aimed at improving legal regulation and assigning powers to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia not only to conduct checks on compliance with the forensic requirements of civil and service weapons, but also cartridges for it.
At the same time, the Ministry stressed that Rosgvardiya has been identified as the main executor for the development of a draft law on amendments to the said law.
Earlier, the head of the Investigative Committee of Russia, Alexander Bastrykin, proposed to return control over the circulation of weapons and ammunition to the Ministry of Internal Affairs. The UK said that control needs to be tightened so that there are fewer tragedies with victims.
Anatoly Vyborny, deputy chairman of the State Duma Committee on Security and Anti-Corruption, noted that this proposal of the head of the RF IC deserves attention, since there is a request in society to strengthen control over the circulation of weapons. At the same time, he said that the proposal to transfer regulatory functions from Rosgvardiya to the Ministry of Internal Affairs is a very debatable issue. The elector stressed that the Rosgvardiya is extremely careful about performing the functions and tasks assigned to it, but they are not enough.
