Their peculiarity is in the participation of the troops of the Eastern Military District
Minsk. January 21. INTERFAX - The Russian-Belarusian exercises are exclusively defensive in nature, their peculiarity is that the troops of the Eastern Military District will be involved from Russia, head of the Main Directorate of Combat Training of the Belarusian army Andrei Nekrasevich said on Friday.
"In accordance with the plan of the exercise approved by the head of state, we are currently carrying out its detailed planning together with our Russian colleagues. At the same time, the trained troops, as part of a surprise check, carry out an organized advance and occupation of the initial areas of the exercise. I want to note that this exercise is exclusively defensive in nature, but has a number of features," the press service of the Belarusian Defense Ministry quotes Nekrasevich as saying.
"Firstly, the troops of the Eastern Military District, which is currently carrying out an organized advance from the Russian Far East, will take part in the exercises, not the Western Military District, which, as part of a regional grouping of troops, takes part in joint strategic exercises every two years, during which we have achieved a high degree of interaction, but the troops of the Eastern Military District, which is currently carrying out an organized advance from the Russian Far East," said Nekrasevich.
Russia and Belarus are checking the reaction forces of the Union State. According to the Deputy Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation Alexander Fomin, at the first stage - until February 9 - it is planned to redeploy and create groups of troops. At the second stage - from February 10 to 20 - a joint exercise "Allied Resolve-2022" will be held.
