Baku. January 19. INTERFAX-AZERBAIJAN - The process of delimitation of the Azerbaijani-Armenian border should be carried out without any preconditions, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov said.
Bayramov made such a statement on Wednesday in Vienna at a meeting with OSCE Secretary General Helga Schmid, the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry reports.
"The Minister noted that the delimitation of the borders between Azerbaijan and Armenia is considered an important element of the normalization of relations between the two countries and Azerbaijan stands for the immediate start of this process. It was noted with regret that Armenia's approach to this issue, including the position demonstrated by Armenia on it and a number of preconditions for the start of the delimitation process, are absolutely unacceptable. It was brought to the attention of the Secretary General that Azerbaijan is in favor of starting the delimitation process without any preconditions," the Foreign Ministry said.
Bayramov also informed Schmid about the current situation in the region, issues related to the implementation of the trilateral statements, and steps taken by Azerbaijan to normalize relations with Armenia.
