Moscow. January 19. INTERFAX-AVN - The tension around Ukraine is caused by the supply of weapons to this country, as well as military maneuvers and flights of NATO aircraft, said the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov.
During a conversation with journalists, he was asked to comment on the statement by German Chancellor Olaf Scholz about the possibility of disconnecting Nord Stream 2 in case of further escalation of the situation around Ukraine.
"As for the tense situation in Ukraine, it is really very tense. We see arms deliveries there, we see various maneuvers, we see flights of NATO and Western European countries. All this just leads to tension around Ukraine," the Kremlin representative responded.
"We would like our counterparts, including in Germany, to pay attention to this," he continued.
Peskov also noted that Russia values relations with Germany and hopes that the parties will consistently develop them.
