Russian Embassy in Washington: the United States should abandon plans to supply weapons to the Ukrainian army
Washington. January 19. INTERFAX - The Russian Embassy in the United States has stated that if the American administration is really committed to a diplomatic settlement of the internal Ukrainian conflict, it should stop escalating tensions around Donbass and refuse further arms supplies to the Ukrainian military.
"If the United States is really committed to diplomatic efforts to resolve the internal Ukrainian conflict, they should abandon plans to supply new batches of weapons for the Armed Forces. Instead, Washington should use its influence on the Ukrainian authorities to convince them to stop sabotaging the Minsk agreements," the statement published on the embassy's social network page reads.
Noting that on January 18, senior officials of the White House, the State Department and the Pentagon announced in unison that there were no steps to de-escalate on the Russian-Ukrainian border and claimed that Russia could invade a neighboring state at any time, including from the territory of Belarus, the Russian Embassy once again stressed: Russia is not going to attack anyone.
