According to the head of the Ministry of Defense, defensive equipment will not pose a threat to Russia

British Defense Minister Ben Wallace said that London will supply Ukraine with light anti-tank defense systems, writes Glavred. According to the official, they are not strategic weapons and do not pose a threat to Russia.

The head of the British Ministry of Defense, Ben Wallace, said that the state would supply weapons to Ukraine. We are talking about light anti-tank systems. He said this during a hearing in parliament.

"We decided to supply Ukraine with light anti-tank defense systems… They are not strategic weapons and do not pose a threat to Russia. They should be used in self-defense," Wallace said.

In addition, the British Minister invited the head of the Russian Ministry of Defense to visit London. He plans to discuss the situation around Ukraine with a colleague from Russia.

Recall that on the eve it became known that the Ambassador of Ukraine to Germany Andriy Melnyk appealed to the German Foreign Minister Annalena Berbock with a request that Berlin urgently approve the supply of weapons to Ukraine. Melnik argued this appeal with the threat of invasion by the Russian Federation.

The New York Times on January 7 published a new map with Russian troops near the borders of Ukraine. The Russians pulled about 100 thousand troops to the Ukrainian borders and surrounded the state from three directions.

Later, American intelligence learned about the scenario according to which Moscow is preparing an operation to attack militants in ORDLO "under a false flag" in order to create a pretext for a military offensive against Ukraine. It is noted that the Russians may go on provocations a few weeks before the military invasion, which may occur in the period from mid-January to mid-February.

The United States also threatened Moscow with serious sanctions if Russia decides to launch a new military operation against Ukraine.
