Prague. January 17th. INTERFAX - The Slovak Ministry of Defense has denied information from the American edition of The New York Times that in the event of an armed conflict between Russia and Ukraine, the United States will allegedly train Ukrainian militants on Slovak territory.
"No such possibility, which, as they say, comes from a "confidential source" in the US administration, has ever been discussed with Slovakia either at the bilateral or multilateral level," Martina Koval-Kakashchikova, a spokeswoman for the Ministry of Defense, told the Slovak newspaper Pravda.
The publication noted that "the chairman of the Smer opposition movement, Robert Fico, took advantage of this publication, calling it an argument for breaking the military agreement with the United States."
