Moscow. January 17th. INTERFAX - Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Grushko said that Russia "does not threaten anyone," but warns against hostile measures from the West.
"We are not threatening anyone. We warn you. Our position is absolutely clear and predictable. And we have clearly stated it, now we are waiting for the same honest reaction," he said in an interview with the Kommersant newspaper, which will be published on Tuesday.
According to the deputy minister, "NATO is well aware of what military-technical measures the Russian side may be talking about." "We do not hide our capabilities, we act very transparently," Grushko stressed.
Speaking about Russian proposals in the field of security, Grushko noted: "Our proposals are an appeal to common sense, a call to turn on your head and take steps that are objectively required to take the current security situation away from a dangerous line."
"In general, if you carefully read our proposals, there is a lot built on the principle of reciprocity. For example, we propose to withdraw the exercises from the contact zone along the border of Russia (and the states that are in a military alliance with it) and NATO. That is, mirroring is provided here," Grushko said.
