MOSCOW, January 17 - RIA Novosti. The Moscow Arbitration Court has assigned the "Top Secret" stamp to the case on the claim of the Russian Ministry of Defense, demanding to recover more than 3.9 billion rubles from Samara JSC "Progress Rocket and Space Center", the manufacturer of Soyuz launch vehicles and other space technology.
As follows from the published court ruling, the defendant submitted to the case file documents classified as "Top Secret", therefore, the court, in accordance with the provisions of the law "On State Secrets", proceeded to consider the case in closed mode. The next meeting will be held on March 24. The claim, which came to court in October, stated a claim for the recovery of a penalty. No other details are given.
Currently, the same court is also in closed mode considering the case of another major claim of the Ministry of Defense to the RCC "Progress" - in the amount of more than 2.4 billion rubles. In it, the plaintiff demands to recover funds under the contract dated August 27, 2014. The subject of the contract and other details are not disclosed in the court materials.
Progress is part of Roscosmos. The head of Roscosmos, Dmitry Rogozin, commenting on the filing of a lawsuit by the Ministry of Defense for 2.4 billion rubles, previously said that in this particular case it was not the fault of Progress, but "the situation in which the country found itself because of sanctions." According to him, if the delay in the delivery of the spacecraft either in the interests of Roscosmos as a customer, or to the Ministry of Defense occurs even for two or three days, then by law customers are required to file lawsuits.
Progress RCC produces Soyuz launch vehicles and spacecraft, and is also engaged in the development of promising Soyuz-5, Soyuz-6, Amur-LNG and superheavy rocket carriers. By order of the Ministry of Defense, the company participates in the creation of the Bars-M and Hrazdan type reconnaissance spacecraft, and also manufactures a support module for the Lotos-S1 series of electronic reconnaissance vehicles manufactured by Arsenal Design Bureau.
