One of the contenders for a promising rifle of the American army went on free sale. Yesterday, January 16, SIG Sauer announced the start of sales of the MCX-SPEAR carbine, a civilian version of the rifle participating in the NGSW tender.
The carbine is available in caliber 277 SIG FURY (6.8 ×51 mm) - a civilian version of the army cartridge XM1186 caliber 6.8 mm. MCX-SPEAR has a barrel length of 330 mm and a rifling pitch of 1:7. The weight of the weapon is 3.8 kg.

The MCX-SPEAR has already gone on retail sale in the US at the manufacturer's recommended price of $8000. This amount already includes a sound modifier (silencer) and two packs of 277 SIG FURY cartridges.
