It will be possible to launch the rocket from a mobile launch complex
MOSCOW, January 17. /tass/. The working group of the Bauman Moscow State Technical University has developed a conceptual image of an ultralight class launch vehicle (SLC). This is stated in the theses to the XLVI Academic Readings on Cosmonautics in memory of S. P. Korolev (Royal Readings).
"The results of the work were presented to the competition commission and received a positive assessment by experts. The proposed report provides the main ones: the design appearance of the SLK launch vehicle, the main characteristics of the carrier and propulsion system, the results of design and ballistic analysis, a mass summary, economic estimates," the theses say.
The materials say that the project involves the maximum use of ready-made elements and production equipment of serial products, the rocket block of the first stage will be created from materials of domestic production, and the second stage - from composite material. The carrier's engines must run on oxygen-methane fuel. At the same time, the rocket, the first stage of which may become reusable in the future, will be able to be launched from a mobile launch complex so that it can launch from anywhere in the Russian Federation that meets the requirements, including from a ship in the ocean.
"As a basic option, a two-stage launch vehicle with a launch mass of 20,000 kg was considered, providing the launch of a spacecraft weighing up to 250 kg into a circular sun-synchronous orbit with a height of 500 km," the theses say.
It is noted that the project of the ultralight rocket was presented at the competition of the analytical center "Aeronet".
XLVI Academic Readings on Cosmonautics in memory of S. P. Korolev (Royal Readings) will be held at the Bauman Moscow State Technical University from January 25 to 28.
