Washington. January 16. INTERFAX - The Russian side will be forced to take measures if it realizes that the West is not going to take seriously its concern about a number of aspects related to security, said the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov.
"You have to understand this: no one threatens anyone with military action. Such threats would be madness," he said in an interview with CNN.
"At the same time, we will be ready to take retaliatory measures," he added, answering a question about the possible reaction of the Russian Federation in case of failure of negotiations with the West on the topic of security in Europe and refusal to take seriously Russian proposals in this area.
