The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Jewish state, Yair Lapid, explained that NASA had offered Israel "to sign an international treaty on the study of the Moon and Mars, as well as comets and asteroids".
TEL AVIV, January 16. /tass/. The Israeli government and the US National Aeronautics and Space Administration NASA are preparing to sign the so-called "Artemis Agreements" on joint space exploration, in particular the Moon and Mars, as well as asteroids and comets. This was announced on Sunday by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Jewish state Yair Lapid.
"Today I submitted for government approval the Artemis Agreements initiated by NASA on cooperation in the field of space exploration. Their signing will increase the level of trade and economic cooperation in the space sphere between [the two] countries," Lapid wrote on Twitter. The Foreign Ministry's press service distributed the minister's statements, in which he explained that NASA had offered Israel "to sign an international treaty on the study of the Moon and Mars, as well as comets and asteroids."
The signing of such an agreement with the United States is "a significant step for Israel," which will bring the Jewish state "to the forefront among countries that promote scientific and technological progress," Lapid believes. "We are moving together towards a global and innovative future in which different countries mobilize resources to promote science and research and develop international ties in the space industry together," he added.
