Beijing. January 15th. INTERFAX - In the DPRK, the launch of two missiles on Friday was carried out by a railway-based missile regiment from railway platforms, the Korean Central Telegraph Agency (KCNA) reported on Saturday.
This was a training shooting aimed at "checking and evaluating the skill of actions", two tactical guided missiles were launched, which successfully hit a given target in the Eastern Sea, the report says.
It notes that the North Korean military command "discussed the creation of a proper control system for railway-based missiles throughout the country and the search for ways to further improve the methods of their use."
The South Korean military said after the missile launches that they flew about 430 km at an altitude of 36 km with a maximum speed six times the speed of sound.
As reported, the DPRK launched, presumably, two ballistic missiles that launched from Pyongan-Pukto province in the west of the country.
