Washington. January 13. INTERFAX - The US Permanent Representative to the UN, Linda Thomas-Greenfield, said that the US is proposing to impose new UN sanctions against the DPRK in response to the country's ballistic missile launches.
"In addition to today's restrictive measures of the State Department and the Ministry of Finance, the United States is proposing UN sanctions after six ballistic missile launches made by North Korea since September 2021, each of which was a violation of UN Security Council resolutions," Thomas-Greenfield said in a message posted on her Twitter.
Earlier it was reported that the US Treasury introduced restrictive measures against the Moscow-registered company "Parsek" and against seven individuals associated with the DPRK.
The list includes Russian Roman Alar, as well as several citizens of North Korean origin living in China or Russia.
Restrictive measures imply a ban on transactions or doing business with listed individuals for US citizens and American companies.
