Tbilisi. January 13. INTERFAX - Georgian President Salome Zurabishvili expressed gratitude to NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg for confirming support for Georgia's sovereignty and territorial integrity.
"Today Jens Stoltenberg made an important statement. In this difficult geopolitical time, we see that Georgia can count on its partners that they will continue to support our sovereignty and territorial integrity," Zurabishvili wrote on Twitter on Wednesday evening, commenting on Stoltenberg's statements that he made after a meeting in the format of the Russia-NATO Council.
Meanwhile, on Wednesday evening, the speaker of the Georgian Parliament Shalva Papuashvili told reporters, also commenting on Stoltenberg's statements, that Georgia wants to become a member of NATO and this issue, according to him, concerns only Georgia and NATO.
