Washington. January 12. INTERFAX - US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said that if diplomatic efforts to resolve the Ukrainian problem with Russia fail, the United States and partners will resort to economic measures against Russia, increase the presence of NATO forces on the Russian borders and military assistance to Kiev, the State Department said.
"The Secretary of State reiterated that if Russia chooses the path of further conflict, the United States, allies and partners are ready to provide huge costs for the Russian economy, strengthen NATO's presence in the frontline allied states and increase defense assistance to Ukraine," the State Department said in a statement following Blinken's conversation with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba.
