Istanbul. January 8th. INTERFAX - The ceasefire in Syria is generally being observed, Turkish Defense Minister Hulusi Akar stated in an interview with reporters on Saturday.
According to him, this became especially noticeable after the meeting of the Presidents of Turkey and Russia Recep Erdogan and Vladimir Putin on September 30.
The Turkish minister noted that Ankara is in constant contact with Russian partners in Syria.
"Turkey has eradicated the terrorist corridor that was planned to be created in Syria, Akar said, adding that by this time more than a million Syrians had voluntarily returned to the territories liberated from terrorists," the Turkish newspaper Sabah writes.
