The hotbeds of terrorist attacks remain, the fight against terrorism will continue

INTERFAX-KAZAKHSTAN - President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev informed Russian President Vladimir Putin that the situation in the country is stabilizing, but the hotbeds of terrorist attacks remain, the resolute fight against terrorism will continue, the press service of the Kazakh leader reported on Saturday.
The information notes that Tokayev had a telephone conversation with Putin. The President of Kazakhstan expressed gratitude to the Russian leader for his support in resolving the issue of sending a joint peacekeeping contingent of the CSTO to assist in restoring constitutional order and legality.
"Kassym-Jomart Tokayev informed Vladimir Putin that the situation in the country is stabilizing. At the same time, the hotbeds of terrorist attacks remain. Therefore, the fight against terrorism will be continued with all determination," the message on the website of the President of the country reads.
Tokayev proposed to hold the CSTO summit in the near future in an online format. The dates of the meeting will be agreed through diplomatic channels, the press service informs.
Earlier on Saturday, the Kremlin's press service reported on a lengthy telephone conversation between Putin and Tokayev.
"According to Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, at the current stage, a joint conversation between the leaders of the CSTO member states is required. In this regard, he intends to take the initiative to hold a videoconference of the CSTO Collective Security Council in the coming days under the chairmanship of the Republic of Armenia as the current chairman of the Organization," the message said.
It noted that Putin supported this proposal.
Later, the press service reported that during Putin's telephone conversations with Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, the current situation in Kazakhstan was discussed.
