Tashkent. January 6th. INTERFAX - Presidents of Uzbekistan and Turkey Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Recep Tayyip Erdogan discussed Uzbek-Turkish relations, the situation in Central Asia and the situation in Kazakhstan during a telephone conversation on Thursday, the press service of the Uzbek leader reported.
"The leaders of the two countries discussed the current state and prospects of the Uzbek-Turkish relations of strategic partnership, as well as issues of further intensification of cooperation," the message reads.
According to the press service, there was also an exchange of views on the situation in Central Asia, in particular on the current situation in Kazakhstan.
"The heads of State called for a peaceful settlement of the situation, stressing the importance of preventing violence and escalation," the message reads.
