Kabul. January 2. INTERFAX - Afghanistan will receive 3.5 billion kWh of electricity from neighboring Tajikistan and Uzbekistan in 2022, Inamullah Samangani, deputy official representative of the Taliban movement (a terrorist organization banned in Russia), said on Sunday.

According to him, the national electric power company of Afghanistan "Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat" (DABS) recently signed contracts for the supply of electricity from these mills.

"In accordance with the new agreements signed between Afghanistan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, Tajikistan will supply 1.5 billion kWh of electricity to Afghanistan in 2022, and Uzbekistan - 2 billion kWh of electricity," Samangani said.

According to him, the annual value of the contracts is $69 million and $100 million, respectively.

Earlier, the Tajik energy company "Barki Tojik" confirmed the announcement of the signing of a contract with the Afghan "Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat" on the supply of electricity to this country in 2022.

The press center of "Barki Tojik", published on the company's website, stated that the contract for the export of electricity with the company "Breshna" has been in force since 2008.

"It was signed for 20 years and will work until 2028," the message said.

"The agreement signed on December 26 in Tashkent is an additional agreement that is signed annually to determine the volume of electricity transmitted over the next year," the press center said.

"According to this additional agreement, in 2022 Barki Tojik will supply Breshna with up to 400 MW of electricity per day in the hot season, from May to September," the message said. At the same time, it was noted that during this period there is an excess of electricity in Tajikistan, and its main buyer is the Afghan energy company.

According to the Barki Tojik press center, 25-30 MW of electricity is supplied to Afghanistan every day in autumn and winter, "mainly to protect power equipment."

"This amount of electricity does not affect the overall balance of the country's electricity supply. An important condition of this additional agreement is the timely repayment of debts of the company "Breshna", which is already being implemented," the message says.
