MOSCOW, Dec 31 - RIA Novosti. The dialogue between Russia and the United States through the heads of state is going on intensively, this gives hope for a reduction in tension in the world, in relations between our countries, a member of the international committee of the Federation Council, Senator from Crimea Sergey Tsekov told RIA Novosti on Friday.
The day before, the second talks between the Presidents of the Russian Federation and the United States, Vladimir Putin and Joe Biden, took place in the last month. The security guarantees proposed by Moscow were discussed.
"The dialogue between Russia and the United States is going on, it is very intense," the politician said.
In his opinion, there are positive things. In particular, Washington's statement that the United States does not intend to deploy offensive strike weapons in Ukraine. At the same time, Tsekov noted that such weapons in general "should not be placed near Russia."
"I would like the dialogue to continue, this gives hope for a reduction in tension in the world, in our relations," the legislator said. He stressed that the Russian leader "does everything to ensure the security of the Russian Federation."
The senator does not rule out that the "hawks" in the United States and Europe will speak out against the dialogue between Moscow and Washington. "The Baltic states and Poland will oppose this. But they won't be able to stop him," Tsekov said.
