Roscosmos noted that in 2021 NPO Energomash carried out in full a series of fire tests of several copies of this engine
MOSCOW, December 31. /tass/. Delivery of RD-171MV liquid rocket engines for flight tests of the Soyuz-5 launch vehicle will begin in 2022. This is stated in the message of Roscosmos, distributed on Friday.
"In 2022, the delivery of RD-171MV for flight tests begins," the report says.
As noted in the state corporation, in 2021 NPO Energomash carried out in full a series of fire tests of several copies of this engine.
"NPO Energomash also sent the RD-171MV engine to the Progress RCC (part of Roscosmos) for assembly and testing as part of the first stage of the launch vehicle," the report says.
In December 2020, the head of Roscosmos Dmitry Rogozin reported on the first full-size fire test of the world's most powerful liquid rocket engine RD-171MV, all parameters were normal. This engine is being created for a promising medium-class Soyuz-5 launch vehicle and a superheavy rocket.
